Our child with Down Syndrome has reached those teen years. The one thing that isn't slow with a child with Down Syndrome is the arrival of puberty. This set of fora is dedicated to issues dealing with teens with Down Syndrome.

A typical child once they become a teen can be trusted a few hours alone but that isn't so for a teen with Down Syndrome. We still need to continue to provide our teens with Down Syndrome with a watchful care giver. This forum will be used to help you deal with the issues and questions surrounding continued After School Care.

As our children move into teenhood we want to make sure we keep current with the health of our children. Teens with Down Syndrome tend to be no different than a typical child as they grow except for those things that are particular to anyone with Down Syndrome. I know from experience that puberty offers unique challenges and isn't delayed at all. Use this forum to help you in dealing with questions and issues you have for your teen with Down Syndrome.
